Remember that controversy that Russell Westbrook’s dancing stirred up in the playoffs? Well it was none other than Cameron Payne, Westbrook’s dance partner, that hit the game winner Saturday morning against Dallas.
Despite the loss, Mavericks prospect and former Arizona forward Brandon Ashley dominated the game, scoring 10 points and grabbing 8 rebounds in the first half. Ashley finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds, he was 5-10 from the field and 0-4 from three.
Ashley’s productivity will be something to keep an eye on this summer with the pending free agency of Dwight Powell. Ashley could potentially fill a roster slot or become a trade piece for the Mavericks.
