5.) The End of Season Run

The Dallas Mavericks entered the last month of the season battling on the ropes in hoping to make the postseason. After a plethora of injuries, the outlooked looked grim, but not impossible.

After losing Chandler Parsons for the season, Deron Williams dealing with a hernia injury, and a center position that was in rotation between 2-4 players, Dallas found themselves trying to put a team together on the court that could battle with some of the younger more talented teams in the West.

Being led by the undervalued J.J. Barea, Dallas went on an end of season run that was as impressive as anything they did on the season. They won six games in a row and 7 out of their last 9 games in the season to finish with the 6th best record in the Western Conference.

They even finished with a better record than a Houston Rockets team that finished second in the West last year and brought back the same team this year. Before the last nine games of the season, with the injuries and roster challenges the Mavericks had, hardly anyone predicted the run that Dallas went on to make the playoffs.
