Isaac Harris: Justin Anderson Role

“Chandler Parsons’ whole season is probably the overwhelming choice, but I’m going to go with the role that Justin Anderson played this season.

I am never the one that questions the decisions that Rick Carlisle makes, but the minutes and role that Anderson received this season was disappointing to me. Drafting a guy in the first round at a position of need on the team seemed to be a recipe for a major role on the season.

Even though we saw similar stuff with Jae Crowder, I thought Anderson would be different, especially with the injury woes to Parsons. It wasn’t until the end of season and playoffs that we saw a role that I thought we would see from the beginning of the season.

Disappointment or not, now Dallas will go into next season knowing what they have in Anderson and he should get an increased role next season.” -Harris

From the seasons of Parsons and Matthews to the fact that this team hardly suited up a completely healthy team, the Mavericks had their share of disappointments this season. Even though they did exceed expectations this season, you can’t help to wonder what would have happened if the injury plague never hit Dallas.
