After quotes surfaced of Barry Larkin’s excitement for his son being moved to the New York Knicks, he took to Twitter to defend his words.
#MFFL I am disappointed in how every positive comment I made about the mavs organization, the big D, coach C and MC was spun negatively.

The MLB’s Hall of Famer was quoted saying “Dallas doesn’t do a good job of developing players,” Larkin told the New York Post. “They’re in win-now mode. [Coach] Rick Carlisle doesn’t know how to develop young players, and Shane was a rookie. It always was a struggle for him to figure out what was going on.’’
His son – Shane Larkin – was traded to the Knicks in part of the Tyson Chandler trade. Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert, and Wayne Ellington are also joining Larkin in New York.
Larkin, 21, was the 18th overall selection in the 2013 draft. He averaged 2.8 points and 1.5 assists in 48 games during his rookie campaign.
