To the displeasure of Dallas Mavericks’ fans, they will not be seeing their sweet shooting point guard during All-Star weekend.
Many hoped and thought that Jose Calderon would be one of eight participants in the 3-pt shootout.
The players chosen are Washington Wizards’ guard Bradley Beal (40.8%), Cleveland Cavaliers’ guard Kyrie Irving (35.4%), Orlando Magic’s Arron Afflalo (42.7%), Minnesota Timberwolves’ forward Kevin Love (37.5%), Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry (40.2%), Portland Trailblazers’ Damian Lillard (40.5%), Brooklyn Nets’ Joe Johnson (38.9%), and San Antonio Spurs’ Marco Belinelli (44.3%).
I’m sure you noticed that Jose Calderon was not on that list.
Calderon at 44.1% shoots a higher percentage than 7 of the 8 participants.
How he was not chosen is a mystery.
Kyle Korver (46.2%) passed on the event to spend time with his family.
Other notable snubs: Blazers’ guard Wesley Mathews (41.9%), Memphis Grizzlies Courtney Lee (42.7%), Utah Jazz’s Richard Jefferson (43.5%), and Warriors’ Klay Thompson (41.0%) to name a few.
