Ricky Ledo

10 games. 3.3 mins, 1.9 pts, 35.3% fg

AF: A+ All relative of course, but Ricardo Ricky Ledo was selected 43rd overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, territory that hasn’t produced anything useful to the Mavs since – get ready i’m gonna stretch – Shan Foster was selected 51st in 2008 with pretty random expectations. Ledo has already surpassed Foster’s game total by the 10 he’s participated in. On January 10th in New Orleans the Mavericks 2nd round selection saw meaningful minutes in the first quarter. He provided a nice spark off the bench with Shawn Marion (and Wayne Ellington) out, something absolutely foreign to someone in his role for Dallas. Ledo is currently back in the D-League with the Texas Legends, and I hope and expect most of his season happens there as he continues to develop. Also he’s got Puerto Rican roots…J.J!

RM: Ledo is probably a fan fave already and understandably so. He shows plenty of promise to being a second round steal. For this season though, I expect his only impact will continue to be in the D-League. Don’t be surprised when we start to hear the “Free Ledo” chants.

Rodney Fisher: B- Ledo is raw talent. He could become the slasher, scorer that the teams has searched for years. With not any basketball since high school, he has done everything the organization has asked of him. Including playing with the Texas Legends to make roster room.
