Shawn Marion has been missing playing time the past couple weeks. But as Jason Terry, who is still alive despite reports, returns to Dallas with his new team, the Boston Celtics, Shawn Marion will return to the court as well.
“It’s feeling a lot better,” Marion said. “I still feel a little bit [of soreness], but it’s not enough to hold me back. I’m able to do a little bit more things and put some pressure on it.”
Marion has been battling a strained calf but feels ready to return, and the Mavs could use arguably their best defensive player. The Mavs weathered his absence well going 5-3 over those 8 games.
“I’m ready to go,” said Marion.
Aside from Dirk Nowitzki, Marion is the only member of the 2011 Championship team left in Dallas. Jason Terry, a member of that 2011 team, will certainly be looking to have a big night in Dallas.
It is unknown whether he’ll try to have a big night as a way to stick it to Mark Cuban and the Mavs for letting him walk away. From the Mavericks side they don’t hold any ill will towards Terry.
When asked about Jason Kidd’s jersey being retired in the American Airlines Center Cuban said “hell no.” But the way Jason Terry left was much more professional and friendly, and Cuban would still consider hanging JET’s jersey in the rafters.
