]]> Kevin Durant may have his third sports agent in six years. Jay-Z backed Roc Nation Sports will be handling the marketing for Durant going forward with the speculation that as soon as Jigga sells his stake in the Brooklyn Nets he upgrade to agent. NBA rules block Jay-Z from representing players in the NBA because he is a minority owner of a franchise. This is a clever way to get around that for now.

Durant is one of the most marketed athletes today. He is currently endorsing Gatorade, Nike, Sprint, BBVA Compass, and many more. He as also made some opportunities in Hollywood after his debut feature film “Thunderstruck” in 2012.

Roc Nation Sports roster already includes New York Yankees slugger Robinson Cano, New York Jets QB Geno Smith, and WNBA rookie Skylar Diggins. Sources close to the new sports agency have hinted to more players willing to join them once he is certified by the NBA.

]]> At the age of 40, Jason Kidd as decided to end his hall-of-fame career today. He cuts his current three year deal with the New York Knicks short, but his accomplishments in his career speak volumes.

From being co-rookie of the year in 1994 with Grant Hill, who retired the day before, to winning a NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. Kidd leaves the game a 10-time NBA All-Star and second in history for total assists and steals behind John Stockton.

“When you think about 19 years, it has been a heckuva ride. Physically, I want to be able to participate in activities with my kids so it has taken a toll. It is time to move…”, said Kidd during an interview with ESPNNewYork.com

For a Mavericks fan like myself, the best memories of Jason will be the championship run of 2011. Second would be the Mavericks marketing campaign of the “Three Js” with Jamal Mashburn and Jim Jackson.

When asked what he would do now with his free time he hinted towards broadcasting and surprisingly coaching. Then again, he is the ultimate floor general.
