The NBA came and went with the Dallas Mavericks doing absolutely nothing to the roster. Was this a good thing or a mistake?

Building up to the trade deadline, rumors were flying everywhere across the league with big names such as Dwight Howard, Al Horford, and Kevin Love were all mentioned to be on the block. To much surprise, none of the big names were dealt and the fans were dealt with somewhat of a boring trade deadline.

To the Dallas Mavericks defense, they were pretty limited on the trade market. From injury recoveries to small salaries, it would have been difficult to pull in a big name at the deadline.

Big name or not, the Mavericks did take calls at the deadline that Mavs GM Donnie Nelson was pretty open about at his press conference on deadline day. Arguably the player most people thought would be gone was the expiring contract of Raymond Felton, but the Mavs decided to hold on to the veteran.

Most notably was the calls they took on the youngsters as Nelson admitted they got offered mid-first round picks for the young guys.

With the Mavericks sitting in somewhat of a land of mediocrity in the middle of the Western Conference playoff picture, fans of the Mavericks were torn on whether the Mavericks should have done something to improve the team or stand pat.

We took to twitter to ask for some fan reaction to the Mavs standing pat at the deadline, here is a couple of examples that summed up most of the fan base.

You had your fair share of people applauding the Mavericks for finally hanging on to the young guys and not shipping them off for more win-now veterans. But the primary fan reaction was disappointment in the Mavericks for not pulling the trigger on something as you see in the last two relations.

And then there is my favorite reaction…

None of us truly know the offers that was on the table of the Mavericks on Thursday, but there was growing disappointment around the fan base. Now we all watch the Mavs scour the waiver wire make in hopes of adding a quality veteran (or two) before March 1st.

Next: David Lee is a Dallas Maverick

After making the David Lee signing official, the Mavericks will look to get him up to speed before facing Oklahoma City on Wednesday. The real question is whether the Mavericks will look to add another buyout candidate before March 1st.
