Chandler Parsons responds to James Harden's comments

The Dallas Mavericks pried Chandler Parsons away from the Houston Rockets. If the in-state rivalry wasn’t already exciting, it may just get better.

Rockets’ star Dwight Howard was asked about the loss of Parsons, and his reply may have got the ball rolling.

Won’t affect us at all.

Parsons didn’t have any issue with Howard’s comments, saying,

I know he didn’t mean it. He’s one of my closest friends. He’s got to be confident with the Rockets moving forward with or without me there, so I understand where he’s coming from. I think it’s a ridiculous statement, but at the end of the day, he has to stick up for the Rockets and I don’t think he meant it in a bad way and didn’t try to bash me at all.

It was Howard’s Co-Star, James Harden’s time to speak on the Rockets offseason.

Dwight and I are the cornerstones of the Rockets. The rest of the guys are role players or pieces that complete our team. We’ve lost some pieces and added some pieces. I think we’ll be fine next season.

While Parsons didn’t take any offense to Dwight’s comments, he had plenty to say about Hardens’.

Harden, like Parsons, was one the third-option during his time in Oklahoma before exploding to stardom in Houston. Parsons wasn’t done there, as he went to Twitter to send out one more message.

If Parsons was missing Houston, the comment by Harden may have him happy he left for Dallas.

The first showdown between the Rockets and Mavericks will surely have these comments popping back up.
