Dirk Nowitzki deal for three-years, $25 million

The Dallas Mavericks and Dirk Nowitzki agreed to a deal in early July to keep him in North Texas. Previously that deal was thought to be for three-years and $30 million dollars.

The deal was made official today and it came with the shocking revelation that Nowitzki signed for less than previously thought.

Always one to be the team player, Dirk agreed to take less to facilitate the Chandler Parsons deal.

The story isn’t without one more twist and turn, apparently the Los Angeles Lakers also offered Dirk a max deal, like the Houston Rockets’ standing offer. Nowitzki turned it down to stay with the Mavericks though, committed to the team, owner Mark Cuban and the fans.
