Mavericks to meet with Mo Williams

Despite locking up Devin Harris and having Raymond Felton on the roster, the Dallas Mavericks are still hunting for another point guard.

Yahoo!’s Marc J. Spears has reported that the team will be meeting with guard Mo Williams on Tuesday.

With Jose Calderon and Wayne Ellington in New York, the Mavericks are severely lacking reliable three-point threats. Both were ranked first and second on the team in three-point percentage.

Williams spent last season with the Portland Trailblazers. He averaged 9.7 points and shot 36.9% from behind the arc this season.

The only current Maverick to have shot greater than Williams from long-range is Dirk Nowitzki, who shot 39.8%. If Vince Carter re-signs with the team, he would only be the second Maverick to shoot a higher percentage than Williams last season.

It is evident that the team needs to add shooting, huge factor in their interest of the 11-year veteran.

For his career, Williams has averaged 13.3 points and shot 38.5% from three.
