Carmelo Anthony could help push Chandler Parsons to Mavs

The Dallas Mavericks are in the thick of the free agency pursuit of Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. If they don’t get either of those players, they could pursue other options like restricted free agent Chandler Parsons of the Houston Rockets.

If they had to find a back up plan to Anthony or James, Parsons might be their best bet. In order to get Parsons they’d need Camrelo to go to Houston.

From ESPN Dallas:

The Mavs realize that the only realistic way the Houston Rockets would decline their right to match an offer to restricted free agent Chandler Parsons is if they replace him in the starting lineup with a perennial All-Star small forward. So, as much as they’d love to win the Melo derby, the second-best scenario would be seeing him join stars Dwight Howard and James Harden in Houston.

Should Anthony sign with the Rockets, the Mavs would swoop in and attempt to sign Parsons to a lucrative offer sheet.

What Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas is saying, is that any offer the Mavs made Parsons would be matched by Houston. If Houston signs Anthony, they’d be unable to match an offer by Dallas.

It’d be a rough move for Parsons, who helped recruit center Dwight Howard to the Rockets.

OMFG!! Hey writer, are you retarded? THE ROCKETS ARE INTERESTED IN MELO TO PLAY THE 4!!

I can’t wait until all of this is settled so I do not have to waste time with these stupid speculation articles that hold ZERO merit! You should NEVER be allowed to write another article again!!

Oh I get it, you’re a Maverick writer, makes you even more of an idiot but at least I know you wrote this crap out of some idiotic pipe dream! Parsons will NEVER be a Maverick! Let it go!!

    • Greg Hill

Now that Parsons is officially a Maverick and the Rockets are left holding the bag, what do you have to say now? I think you have made a fool out of yourself again and owe the writer an apology.

    5 – Howard
    4 – Anthony
    3 – Parsons
    2 – Harden
    1 – Beverly

That will be our line up! Parsons option was declined for two reasons only!

To bring in a 3rd top tier player and to keep Parsons a Rocket for 4 more years at least by using bird rights to exceed the cap without a luxery tax penalty!

Anyone who thinks they have a shot at Parsons, obviously do not understand the pure genius of Mr Morey!

He and Parsons are in cahoots on this deal! Parsons wants to stay a Rocket as bad as DM, Les and the entire city of Houston wants him to stay a Rocket!

Watch Parsons not even field any offers in FA because he knows DM and Les will take care of him and show him the respect he has earned!

How’s that working out for ya?

Dallas can suck it when the Rockets are the NBA champs of the 2014-15 season!

Talk is cheap. Howard is a great player but Hardin got exposed in the playoffs last year. Asik and Lin will be replaced by some guys not much better than themselves and the Rockets will continue to lose to superior Western Conference teams in the first round until Howard forces a trade out of town.

Let’s see what you have to say when the Rockets are NBA champions next season, you douche!
