C.J. Fair to Play for Dallas Mavericks Summer League Team

Without any draft selections, the Dallas Mavericks will look to bring in undrafted free agents to fill their summer league roster.

Syracuse forward C.J. Fair has accepted the Mavericks invite to join their summer league team. Fair, 22, went undrafted last night, but joined the team he expected to call his name. But after trading their two draft picks for Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton, the Mavs no longer had any picks to draft the forward.

Fair’s agent – Torell Harris,

We spoke to Dallas. They told us. They wanted C.J. I knew Dallas was going to take him.

The Mavericks have a genuine interest in C.J. They were going to pick him. They want him.

Fair played four seasons with Syracuse; he averaged 16.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 steals during his senior season with the Orange. At 6’8″, he is could be able to play both forward positions, but is most likely best suited to play small forward, where the Mavs only have Jae Crowder currently under contract.

Last year’s rookies Ricky Ledo and Gal Mekel are also expected to take part in the Las Vegas Summer League.

Players are expected to join the club July 5. Vegas Summer League takes place July 11- 21.
