NBA: Phoenix Suns' Channing Frye Opting Out

After missing the 2012-2013 season with a heart condition, Channing Frye enjoyed a stellar 2013-2014 season and is set to cash in by opting out of the final year of his deal. He was set to earn $6.8 million next season.

Frye played and started a career best 82 games this season for the resurgent Phoenix Suns. He averaged 11.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and .8 blocks.

As a stretch four, he can be seen as a great fit and target for plenty of teams; he shot 37% from 3-pt range and is a career 38.5% shooter from deep.

The Dallas Mavericks could possibly be seen as suitor for the 31-year-old big man. As he could backup Dirk Nowitzki; a spot currently vacant with Shawn Marion currently a free agent.

He holds career averages of 9.9 points and 5.2 rebounds; suiting up for the New York Knicks, Portland Trailblazers, and Suns during his eight year career.
