Sources: Carmelo Anthony Still Plans To Opt Out

Even with Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher in place, Carmelo Anthony still plans on opting out of the final season of his deal with the New York Knicks according to sources.

Anthony, 30, will probably be seeking his final big pay day; as he is also looking to be on a contender to chase down an NBA championship.

Holding career averages of 25.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, Anthony proved once again that he is still one of the NBA’s most prolific scorers in the NBA. He averaged 27.4 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists this past season for the disappointing Knicks.

The Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, and the Chicago Bulls have been rumored as possible destinations; where he can play next to the likes of Dirk Nowitzki, Monta Ellis, James Harden, Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, and Joakim Noah.

The Miami Heat have also been mentioned as a team that would like to bring Anthony in. If so, the Big-3 would most likely become the Big-4.

Plenty rides on Anthony’s possible departure. If he does depart, guesses are the Knicks will look to rebuild the team.
