Dallas Mavericks TBT: Rodrigue Beaubois Drops 40 Points

“FREE RODDY! FREE RODDY! FREE RODDY!” was the rally call for many fans, hoping to see and experience Rodrigue Beaubious aka Roddy Buckets.

As a first round pick acquired by the Dallas Mavericks during the 2009 draft, no other Mavericks’ rookie since Josh Howard and Devin Harris experienced as much hype as Roddy.

March 27th, 2010, the Roddy Frenzy was at an all-time high after the show he put on against the Golden State Warriors.

The rookie from France finished with a career-high 40 point and added 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 assists in 30 minutes of action. He also shot a whopping 9-11 from three and was 15-22 from the field.

Dirk Nowitzki (13 points and 10 rebounds), Shawn Marion (18 points and 5 steals), and Monta Ellis (14 points) are the only current Mavs who participated in this game. Though, Ellis was on the Warriors’ team back then.

Other notable players to have participated in this game were Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Stephen Curry, and Caron Butler.
