Should Mavericks Look To Trade For Nets’ Deron Williams?

The Brooklyn Nets were eliminated by the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Semifinals, falling in five games. After the loss, rumors have surfaced that Nets’ star Deron Williams wants out of Brooklyn after another disappointing season.

Williams re-signed with the Nets during the 2012-2013 offseason, signing a 5-year $100 million contract. The Dallas Mavericks were in the hunt for his services and were seen as the favorite until Brooklyn traded for Joe Johnson to secure Williams staying.

After missing out on Williams, Dallas elected to go with one-year deal signings – O.J. Mayo, Darren Collison, Chris Kaman – in an effort to conserve cap room for this past season.

With around $30 million in cap space (Pre-Dirk Nowitzki re-signing), the Mavs could look to swing a trade for the former NBA All-Star to bring him back to roots.

Possible trade pieces could include the likes of Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin, Brandan Wright ,and Wayne Ellington.

Should the Mavericks try to trade for D-Will?
