Game 6: Player of the Game? (Poll)

If you don’t love a Game 7 then you don’t love basketball. After the Dallas Mavericks held on for a 113-111 win over the San Antonio Spurs, we got that Game 7 on Sunday!

The Candidates

DeJuan Blair: 10 points, 14 rebounds and 4 steals. Blair was as big this game as he was in game 4 before getting ejected. He came up with big plays over and over. If it was one of his 5 offensive rebounds, or that big steal on Tony Parker to give the Mavs some breathing room, he was all over the court.

Monta Ellis: 29 points and 2 assists. As always, there are highs and lows with Mr. Have it All. He once again tied his playoff career high, but his defense early and 5 turnovers, especially that final football pass, almost doomed the Mavericks.

Dirk Nowitzki: 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 turnovers. We’re starting to see the Dirk we’ve come accustomed too. Included the fourth quarter of Game 5, he’s gone for 36 points on 18 of 30 shooting.

Tony Parker: 22 points, 6 assists, and 5 turnovers. Was slicing and dicing the Mavericks defense, especially in the fourth quarter. Had a crucial turnover at the end of the game to give the Mavs the lead for good.

Tiago Splitter: 19 points and 8 rebounds. Has probably been the best all around player in the series and had another strong outing. Mavericks have struggled to keep him from getting easy layups. He also went 11-12 from the line.

Verdict

The DeJuan Blair Revenge Game was a go. Without Blair coming up with big plays and giving the Mavericks something inside, tough to see them hanging on for the win.
