GAME 5 HALFTIME REPORT- Spurs lead 58-49

Spurs lead 58-49

The Dallas Mavericks got off to another slow start, but used a 15-3 run to end the first to make it a game once again.

San Antonio got off to a hot start, leading 24-11 in the first 6:30 of the opening quarter, but was only able to score three points in the final 5:30.

The Mavs upped their run to 26-13 to tie it at 37 a piece, after Vince Carter’s three, with 7:40 left in the half.

Both teams went back-and-forth before the Spurs went back up nine late in the quarter.

San Antonio held Dallas to just seven points in the final 6:30, all coming from the line to go back up nine heading into the locker rooms.

The Mavs missed their final nine shots.

Carter has a game-high 14 points in 15 minutes, going 3-of-4 from three, while Dirk Nowitzki has 10.

The Spurs have three in double figures, Manu Ginobili (12), Kawhi Leonard (11) and Tony Parker (10).

Samuel Dalembert turned his ankle early in the first, went to the locker room, but did return to finish with two points and three boards.

Dallas, who missed 10 free throws in Game 4, went 9-of-10 in the first half. It also shot 6-of-13 from behind the arc.
