Vince Carter‘ time at number 26 on the NBA’s scoring list was short-lived after accomplishing that feet last week.
Carter came into the day just seven points behind Adrian Dantley (23,177) for 25th on the list.
Carter scored his 23,1778th career point during the second quarter against the Phoenix Suns after nailing his second three of the game.
A career 20.2 scorer, Carter has excelled as the Dallas Mavericks’ 6th man over the last couple season. He’s averaged 12.1 points and is shooting 39.6% this season in 78 games.
Before spending the last three seasons in Dallas, he has played for the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, New Jersey Nets, and Toronto Raptors.
He was originally drafted fifth overall by the Golden State Warriors during the 1998 draft before having his right traded to the Raptors.
The next player in line for Carter to pass up is Robert Parish, who scored 23,334 points during his career.
