Every time it seems Samuel Dalembert finally takes a step forward in the right direction, he always takes two steps back.
This time though, it won’t be because of his play on the court.
Reports are surfacing that the Dallas Mavericks may be without their starting center tonight against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Dalembert is listed as a game-time decision due to a stiff back.
This couldn’t have occurred at a worse time, with Dalembert trending upward. Over his last five games, Dalembert is averaging 7.8 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks.
To make matters worse, the Clippers deploy a frontline of the DeAndre Jordan (NBA’s rebounding leader) and the human highlight reel, Blake Griffin.
If Dalembert is a no-go, expect DeJuan Blair to get the start.
In the two games against the Clippers, Dalembert has averaged 14.5 points and 6 rebounds, and was involved in one altercation with Griffin.
