The Dallas Mavericks will catch a HUGE break tonight when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Wolves will be without starting center Nikola Pekovic, who continues to continues to battle an ankle injury.
Pekovic previously missed 13 games in February due to the injury.
In three meetings against the Mavericks, Pekovic has averaged 18. points and 8.3 rebounds.
With Pekovic out, the Mavericks can focus on keeping Kevin Love off the glass. Love is second in the NBA with 12.6 rebounds per game to go with his 26.4 points a night.
Ronny Turiaf is also out for the Wolves, which leaves rookie Gorgui Deng to start at center. In 43 games, Deng has averaged 1.9 points and 2.5 rebounds.
With the Wolves currently sitting in tenth, every game matters, so not having their starting center is a huge blow to their slim playoff hopes.
With Pekovic out, Love, Kevin Martin, and Ricky Rubio will have to carry the offense.
On the season, Pekovic is averaging 17.7 points and 9.0 rebounds.
