Denver Nuggets trade Jordan Hamilton for Houston Rockets' Aaron Brooks

The Denver Nuggets have completed their second trade of the day.

After sending the suspended Andre Miller to the Washington Wizards, they have turned around and found a replacement.

The Nuggets have acquired 3rd-string point guard Aaron Brooks from the Houston Rockets.

The Nuggets will send forward Jordan Hamilton to the Rockets to complete the trade.

With Nate Robinson out for the season and Ty Lawson currently out, Brooks may have a large role early on with the team.

Brooks has averaged 7 points and 1.9 assists in 43 games. With Patrick Beverly and Jeremy Lin healthy and ahead of him on the depth chart, he’s seen just a total of 16 minutes in his last 5 games (3 CD-DNP).

Hamilton, a first round pick in 2011, has played in 39 games, averaging 6.8 points and 3.4 rebounds.  Hamilton should also add versatility and defense on the wings for the Rockets.

The Rockets also appear likely to hang on to backup center Omer Asik as the deadline winds down.

The Nuggets earlier acquired forward Jan Vesely from the Wizards in the Miller trade.
