Late reports have also surfaced that the Cavs will send forward Earl Clark and his expiring deal to the 76ers.
It was earlier reported that the 76ers were looking for a first round pick for the big man, but with teams reluctant to part with their picks, they settled on this deal with the Cavs.
The Cavs are currently 3 games back of the 8th seed in the East and are currently on a 6 game win streak.
The Cavs must also decide in the next 5 hours what they’ll do with mid-season acquisition Luol Deng. With a lack of confidence he’ll re-sign at the end of the season, the team has looked at maybe shopping the forward.
Hawes has averaged 13 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks this season.
Expect the 76ers to now focus their attention on dealing small forward Evan Turner. With Hawes being had for second rounders, you can now expect the same thing for Turner.
The Dallas Mavericks were a team mentioned regarding Hawes and Turner. With Hawes out of the picture, the Mavs may look at Turner if Deng is not available.
