The Los Angeles Clippers have been looking for guard help all season and now with J.J Redick out for an extended period of time, the Clippers may be pushing up their pursuit.
Yahoo Sports is reporting that the Clippers and New York Knicks have in engaged in trade talks centered around Darren Collison, Raymond Felton and Iman Shumpert.
Shumpert would give the Clippers defensive versatility at the guard positions.
Felton would give the Clippers a replacement for the departing Collison.
The Knicks have been looking for guard help, which would explain their interest in Collison. It would be interesting to see if the Knicks would be bringing in Collison to be their starting point guard or if they have another trade in the works for a point guard.
Shumpert has started 511 games for the Knicks, averaging 7.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists.
Felton has averaged 10.3 points and 5.8 assists in 37 games for the Knicks.
Collison is on his fourth team in five years. He’s averaged 10.1 points and 3.6 assists in 56 games (19 starts). He’s previously played for the New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers, and Dallas Mavericks.
