The Los Angeles Lakers’ fire sale is officially under away.
The Lakers have reportedly agreed to send guard Steve Blake to the Golden State Warriors.
The Lakers will receive guards Kent Bazemore and Marshon Brooks.
Blake should bring some much-needed stability to the Warriors bench and guard position.
Since letting Jarrett Jack leave via free agency, the Warriors have not been able to find stable guard help behind Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
The Warriors signed Tony Douglas in the offseason but traded him for Jordan Crawford. Neither has lived up to expectations.
Another important attribute of acquiring is his ability to allow Curry to play off the ball.
Blake has averaged 9.5 points and 7.6 assists this season.
Pau Gasol, Jordan Hill, and Chris Kaman have also been linked in moves.
Harrison Barnes name has also appeared in rumors revolving around the Warriors.
Brooks career started off promising as he averaged 12.6 points in 56 games as a rookie for the New Jersey Nets. Since then, he’s seen his playing time and scoring drastically dip. He’s averaging just 1.9 points in just 7 games with the Warriors this season.
The trade deadline is tomorrow at 12 PM PT.
