The NBA best may have just gotten better. Today the Indiana Pacers have signed free agent center Andrew Bynum to a one-year deal.
Bynum is expected to supplant back up center Ian Mahinmi, and be the primary backup to defensive anchor Roy Hibbert.
Before being traded to and waived by the Chicago Bulls, Bynum averaged 8.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks in 20 minutes of action for the Cleveland Cavaliers (24 games, 19 starts).
If Bynum is able to prove to be healthy and productive, the Pacers may have the best center duo in the NBA.
The Dallas Mavericks and Miami Heat were previously reported to be interested in the big man.
