It sure was a big night in the NBA. We saw it all-from 3-pt bombs, game winners, triple double, and more, but none top…
Carmelo Anthony: He sure put on a show for the fans at MSG. From midrange Js, to 3-pt bombs, to even a half court buzzer beater, Melo did it all. He finished with a MSG record and career high 62 points on 23-35 shooting. Kobe Bryant held the previous record with 61. Melo got some heat for not recording a single assist but if you’re on like that. Passing is not an option.
Now the rest…
Raining 3′s: Chandler Parson hit a NBA record for 3′s in a half. He hit 10 in the second half against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 10 3s are also a Houston Rocket record.
While Melo was putting on a show, so was Mirza Teletovic down the road. Teletovic rained in 6 3′s in just the second quarter for the Brooklyn Nets. He finished with 7 on the night for a career high 34 points.
Game Winners: Eric Gordon hit a game winning floater to take down the Detroit Pistons to finish with 15 points. Of Kevin Martin’s 26 points, his last two were the most important. He hit a step back jumper with 8 seconds left to give the Minnesota Timberwolves the lead and win over the Golden State Warriors.
20-20: The Orlando Magic don’t get talked about much and rightfully so, but tonight is different. Tobias Harris finished with 28 points and 20 rebounds to get the win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Andre Drummond also joined in on the fun with 21 points and 20 rebounds.
Triple-Double: Kyle Lowry finished with 18 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds for the surging Toronto Raptors.
Big Scoring: Melo wasn’t the only one putting up points tonight: Marcus Thornton (42), Isiaih Thomas (38), Paul George (36), DeMar DeRozan (34), and Steph Curry (33) all had big nights.
