Not much good usually comes from a Dallas Mavericks’ loss, but last night may be an exception.
In his fourth game back, Devin Harris put up season highs 14 points on 4-6 shooting and 4 assists in 16 minutes of action before fouling out.
It seems the rust may be coming off the 30-year-old guard. Coming into the game Harris was 4-14 from the field and totaled 11 points and 4 assists.
Harris showed it all for the Mavs. The quickness was there on drives to the basket (4-4 ft), the 3-pt shot looked good (2-3), and even though he collected 6 fouls, Harris’s defense was great for the most part.
With the Mavericks recent struggles, hopefully Harris can continue to provide a punch
Harris has a unique skill set that neither Monta Ellis, Jose Calderon, or Shane Larkin can replicate.
Harris has the ability and body to guard both guard positions. He has the quickness and size to get to the basket and finish. He has a good enough jumper to play off the ball and hit shots. He is smart enough to handle the ball and create for his teammates.
If this is just the beginning for Harris, the Mavericks will get much-needed help.
