Dallas Mavericks rookie Shane Larkin left towards the end of the third quarter with a right ankle sprain against the New Orleans Pelicans.

There is no immediate information yet on the severity, but he will not return to the game.

The Mavericks have been without Devin Harris all season, which leaves Gal Mekel as the only backup point guard behind starter Jose Caldeorn if Larkin must miss extended time.

Larkin was 0-3 from the field and had 1 rebound in 11 minutes prior to the injury.

On the season he’s averaging 3.4 points and 1.9 assists.
