With Brandan Wright rejoining the Dallas Mavericks last week, the hope was Devin Harris would not be too far behind. It seems that the Mavericks will have to wait on Harris’s return due to swelling occurring around his repaired toe.
Regarding the setback, Harris last week said,
Hopefully, it’s an early Christmas present but not a New Year’s resolution. I’m sticking with that.
Looks like the Mavericks won’t be getting that “early Christmas present” after all.
Harris, outside of Shawn Marion is expected to be the Mavericks best perimeter defender, as he can matchup with both guard spot. Harris will also be able to bring stability to the guard spots to where Wayne Ellington and rookies Shane Larkin and Gal Mekel have not been able to earn a consistent role.
There is no known time table of his return. The hope is that Harris can have a quick impact as Wright did. If he’s able, the Mavericks should be able to make a strong push to climb up the Western Conference standings.
Harris might not be around for the next two home games, but the rest of the team will be on the court for games Wednesday and Friday night. Get your Dallas Mavericks tickets here.
