Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki is looking to add All-Star appearance number 12 this coming February. The first ballot returns were published today by the NBA and seven-foot German is ranked 10th for frontcourt players.

The NBA changed the voting format to exclude the center position last year. Now fans will be able to vote for frontcourt and backcourt players without a specific position title.

Dirk, now healthy, has started in all 23 games this season and is averaging 21 points per game with 6 rebounds. At age 35, Nowitzki is showing no signs of slowing down like many skeptics assumed prior to the start of the season. He is the only Dallas Maverick in contention to make the Western Conference All-Star team.

Voting will end on January 20th and the game will be held in New Orleans on February 16th.
