Dallas Mavericks: Calathes Trade, James To Return

Nick Calathes, second round pick by the Dallas Mavericks in 2009, is reportedly getting traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. Bernard James has cleared waivers and is expected to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks.

Calathes played four season overseas since being drafted by the Mavericks, but now that his former teammate Gal Mekel has joined the team he longer fits in future plans. He wants to finally make the jump to the NBA and will now have the opportunity with the Grizzlies.

Update: Dallas Mavericks receive a second round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft in return.

Bernard James cleared waivers and is expected to re-sign with the Mavs for the league minimum to play backup for Samuel Dalembert and Brandan Wright. The Mavericks originally waived James in order to make cap room to sign Monta Ellis.
