Greeting Mavericks fans! I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself and give a preview of this coming season and what’s in store here on The Smoking Cuban.
My name is Craig Berlin and I am a MFFL. I am from Ft. Worth originally and saw the birth of the Mavericks and have been a fan ever since. I recently started writing about a variety of subjects but primarily sports and began covering the Mavs early this summer for Bleacher Report before I came over to manage The Smoking Cuban.
I plan to continue to have positive incisive articles about this team with real optimism and real criticism with no sugar-coating. You can see what I’ve done since the beginning of the summer here before I came over to TSC and began submitting all my Mavs articles here a few weeks ago.
I’m going to list the current roster and as I complete player projections for the coming season I’ll hyperlink them here. I’ve done several and a couple regarding the whole rebuilt team and will add finish the rest of the team as the season approaches.
In the meantime, looks like an interesting year, much different than any Mavs team in the past. Let’s go Mavs!

A Fort Worth native who grew up with the fledgling Mavericks, Craig graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Plan II, the Liberal Arts Honors Program and Radio-TV-FIlm. He has been running a business in Austin for 25+ years and is a MFFL (Maverick fan for life) but just started writing about his favorite NBA team in July 2012.
