At the half, the Mavs lead 53-51

The Dallas Mavericks continued their hot shooting in the second quarter.  DeShawn Stevenson hit his first three shots from downtown and the Mavs opened up a 12 point lead.  After a timeout, the Heat came alive, going on a 14-0 run to take the lead.  This quarter, and the first half, was all about both teams going streaking.  After the Heat took the lead, a timeout was called.  As both teams were leaving the court, a skirmish broke out as Haslem and Stevenson began to push each other.  Mario Chalmers came charging into the fray, escalating the situation.  All three were given technical fouls.  While no punches were thrown, it will be interesting to see if anyone is suspended for leaving the bench.

The Heat cooled off after Nowitzki hit the technical free throw to cut the Heat lead to one point.  The teams exchanged baskets as the offenses started to click.  Jason Terry continued his hot shooting, finishing the half with 19 points.  What is amazing, and stunning, is the fact that the Mavs had such a productive half with Nowitzki shooting poorly.  Nowitzki only has 3 points so far.  If Dirk gets it going in the second half, the Mavs could pull away.  One thing is for sure, the Mavs are only 24 minutes away from capturing that long awaited trophy.  Lets bring it home boys!
